It is SO SWEET!

If you are like me sugar is an invisible food. I don't really add sugar to anything but my coffee so I don't really eat it right? So I would guess I have about a 1-2 teaspoons a day...HAHA was I way off. Sugar is hiding in everything. I'm not going to get into high fructose corn syrup and lactose, etc but in general it's everywhere. So back to me... Breakfast: yogurt and granola=3.2 tsp Ugh! Lunch: A delicious salad with ranch dressing=1 tsp Dinner:homemade pizza bread with vegetables and cheese =0.5 tsp Oh and my coffee at 2tsp So my grand total for one day is 6.7tsp This is actually quite gross is you think about it. Imagine eating 6 teaspoons of just straight sugar. But according to the AHA, I am well under the national average of 22 teaspoons a day! Mostly this comes from sugary drinks. With diabetes and pre-diabetes such a prevalent problem, you may want to start looking at how much sugar is in that drink...
